Adelaide
rock hardcore band The Killchoir Project managed to snatch some
attention of mainstream audiences. Its crossover appeal was enough
to the see the band play alongside acts such as The White Stripes,
Rollins Band, Grinspoon and more.
Since the demise of TKCP last year, bass/vocalist Peter Wood,
guitarist Benjamin Pix and drummer Jared Brown, have been working
behind the scenes on a new project called ‘The Hot Lies’.
With Wood now fronting the outfit, the lineup was completed with
the addition of bass player Leighton Rose, ex- I killed the prom
queen, and guitarist Josh Delsar, ex- Day of Contempt.
Drawing inspiration from bands as diverse as At-the drive in,
AFI, the Foo Fighters and Refused, The Hot Lies defines its sound
by lacing the power and passion of hardcore with the hooks of
pop melody.
The result: Hard yet melodic rock.
The band will be hauled up in the studio in the upcoming months
to record a debut EP for Sydney label Resist Records.
