 Victoria, BC - Considered one of the leading electronic jazz collectives to emerge from Canada, Lappelectro is about to make its first appearance in Australia.
This unique and cutting edge ensemble was formed in January 2001 and is quickly gaining worldwide recognition as Canada's most innovative jazz based electronica band. And yet, they are much more than that... The core of LAPPELECTRO is multi-instrumentalist Daniel Lapp (horns, strings, vocals). He is joined by two virtuoso band members, Mat Jonson (beats, loops, effects) and Indio Saravanja (guitars, bass, keys, vocals). Together their innovative instincts, improvisational talents and breadth of experience push the limits of numerous and diverse genres by fusing them together. Daniel keenly creates virtual orchestras by sampling himself live on stage.
Lappelectro was recently nominated for "Best Electric Group" at the National Jazz Awards. LE made three exclusive appearances in Australia.
